Hate mail

I’m going to assume that at least 80% of my readers are going to dislike what I am about to say. Some
may even go as far as unsubscribing from my emailer and giving me an “unfollow” on the instatwitface.

That’s okay. I am the one that says what every one is thinking, I’m the one who takes the fall. I tried to
give up being an asshole for lent but it was very short lived.

There is a “strong sense of silence” in the air at the moment when it comes to being “overweight”.
Social media is saturated with images of overweight men and women embracing their beautiful bodies. I
love this, I love the mentality behind this, I am all about empowering men and women by teaching them
to build their mental capacity.

We are all beautiful, we are all equal.

Fat shaming or NOT fat shaming has become an absolute culture, to the point where I am actually quite sick of it.  No one wants to fat shame and we all want people being comfortable with their bodies but this movement of being comfortable with our bodies is really saying that people must be comfortable being sick.  This is a huge problem.

Obesity is a death sentence , you are almost certainly getting diabetes, cancer, heart disease or gall bladder disease.

Why is society trying to paint this picture that those who suffer with obesity should embrace their bodies?

Are we that stupid , that we are at this point in our evolution where we are no longer trying to help people by preventing illnesses?  But rather clinch our circumstances and proudly stand strong to accepting our demise?

As a strength coach and professional within the “health and fitness” industry I endevor to promote, teach, and encourage a healthy lifestyle.

Healthy.  What does this mean?  The dictionary defines it as ‘possessing good health and a vigorous mentality’

Being overweight is not healthy.  The public that promotes embracing being overweight is NOT in possession of a vigorous mentality.

Move more weight, use more oxygen, burn more calories, get more lean. Simple

Not only does moving heavy weight around increase your EPOC, but moving a heavy weight requires more muscle activation. More muscle activation, more energy consumption, more oxygen usage, more calories burnt, more fat loss.

Now with all this science in mind, I ask myself why are women still turning to the treadmill? Unless their goal is purely to build a strong heart and lungs. Even so, the deadlift, the squat and the other big compound lifts of the exercise world train those lungs and build that heart just as effectively as the misery that is cardio.

don’t agree with fat shaming, I don’t agree with body shaming.  But I don’t agree with driving a movement toward embracing ones unhealthy body.

You don’t have to be skinny , you don’t have to be the strongest and you don’t have to be a size 6, 8 or 10 but you do HAVE TO have a body fat of below 30%.  You do HAVE to be HEALTHY.

Stop telling your overweight mate that its okay.  Is it okay that they are giving themselves the death sentence?

Maybe death is a little excessive or maybe its not.

Health should be every bodies number one priority because without it  what do we have?  Choose Life
